Sunday Is launch Date For a/c/e Platform - Start Of The New Trading Platform Sunday 10.00 P.M.

On Sunday, August 27, at 10:00 P.M. Chicago Time, electronic trading on the new electronic trading platform a/c/e will start at the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) as previously stated. The CBOT members will then be able to trade all CBOT products. The a/c/e platform is provided by a joint venture of CBOT and Eurex.

Firms will be able to access the system through a wide-area communication network (WAN) which features 107 connections worldwide and account for over 90% of the CBOT's financial floor volume. Trading will begin on August 27 in countries around the world including the U.S., Germany, France, United Kingdom and Japan. Additional CBOT members and Eurex member firms will be connected to the platform in 4th quarter 2000.
