Galp Energia today made a successful start on the regulated market Eurolist by Euronext Lisbon.
Galp Energia placed 190,727,646 shares to raise EUR 1.1 billion, one of the largest amounts raised in new listings on Euronext markets this year.
The global placement including 90,463,769 shares reserved to the Institutional Offering, 82,925,000 in the Retail Offering and 17,338,877 shares made available under a greenshoe clause was oversubscribed 18 times. On the basis of the closing price today, which was 3,79% above the reference price at EUR 5.81 per share, market capitalization of Galp Energia stands at EUR 5 billion.
Galp Energia is the 100th company admitted to listing on Euronext markets this year, setting total placements on Euronext markets at EUR 12.8 billion, with more than EUR 55 billion added to total market capitalization.
Galp Energia, the 5th largest market capitalization on Euronext Lisbon, will become a component of Portugal's benchmark PSI20 index from 30 October following extraordinary review in accordance with fast entry procedures, as was announced yesterday by official notice.
Today Euronext.liffe Lisbon also started trading Single Stock Futures on Galp Energia.
On the occasion of this new listing, Miguel Athayde Marques, CEO of Euronext Lisbon commented: “We are delighted to welcome Galp Energia, since it is a company of reference in the oil and gas industry, a sector not previously represented on the Eurolist by Euronext Lisbon.”
