Today the New York Stock Exchange listed the streetTRACKS® Gold Shares Exchange Traded Trust under the ticker symbol GLD. Gold Shares offers investors the opportunity to access the gold bullion market through a tradable security with each share representing 1/10 of an ounce of gold. Sponsored by World Gold Trust Services, LLC, a subsidiary of the World Gold Council, Gold Shares are designed to track the price of gold and trade intra-day like any common stock on the Exchange.
