The Thanksgiving week and the Black Friday mark traditionally the start of the Christmas shopping season and therefore the beginning of the most important time for retailers. This helped to push the retail sector on top of the performance list last month and supported the US stock market in general.
The top performer among developed equity markets in November was Luxembourg’s stock market followed by the Japanese, which could continue the positive trend from last month’s election of Shinzō Abe as Prime Minister.
The STOXX® Europe 600 Technology Index is one of 19 STOXX Supersector indices, which track supersectors of the relevant benchmark index. The index includes well known companies with global reach such as SAP, Infineon Technologies as well as Logitech International and has gained more than 30% in the past year. This makes the technology industry the top performer among 19 industries in the STOXX® Europe 600 Index.
