Date 21/03/2001

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) is pleased to report that more than 50 Thai companies have already requested booth space for the June 8-12 'Investor Fair' at BITEC, Bangna. Included are some of Thailand's most successful companies, all of whom are slated to outline their remarkable achievements to prospective investors in the local capital market.

SET President, Mr. Vicharat Vichit-Vadakan, commented: "The SET welcomes all listed Thai companies to establish booths at this, Thailand's first 'Investor Fair'. This event is the very first occasion where listed companies will get a chance to highlight their organizations directly to investors and the general public. We're also proud to note that this is also the first time that prospective investors, and others interested in starting businesses, can learn about Thai investment procedures in the same place at the same time.

"Those attending the fair will by privy to all kinds of investment details, from up-to-date investment opportunities and advice on base stock purchasing decisions to trends in various business sectors. Currently, over 50 companies have already booked booths and many other companies have informed us that they intend to do so after receiving approval from their executive committees."

Companies already confirmed to attend the fair include the Bangkok Bank, Thai Farmer's Bank, Siam Commercial Bank, Bank of Ayudhaya as well as other associated companies, such as Bank Thai Plc, Electricity Generating Plc, Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holdings Plc, Shin Corporation Plc, Charoen Pokphand Food Plc, Thai Union Frozen Products Plc, Pranda Jewelry Plc. and Srithai Supperware Plc, just to name a few.

"The SET sees this 'Investor Fair' as a prime venue in showcasing the potential of every organization in the Thai investment market. I am confident that 'Investor Fair' will enrich the business prospects of professional investors in addition to assisting them to better manage their current business undertakings. I'm delighted to see that several top listed companies have recognized the importance of this fair and have also already demonstrated a lively spirit by confirming their participation at the fair," said Khun Vicharat.

"We also welcome contact from other listed companies who are interested in joining this grand event. It's sure to be a highly valuable experience for both companies who rent booth space and business people looking to broaden their business horizons. The SET forecasts that there will no fewer than 200,000 people attending the fair, not to mention an army of media representatives."
