Statement Of The Warsaw Stock Exchange Concerning Potential Changes In The Prague Stock Exchange Shareholder Structure

The Warsaw Exchange believes that in Central Europe a greater openness of the markets towards competition and co-operation simultaneously is desired.

We interpret the news reaching us from Prague as a step in this direction. Should such the interpretation be correct, this change is very good for the WSE. However, the extent to which this will be beneficial for the Prague Stock Exchange depends on the choice of a development strategy for this exchange.

The sole departure from the current strategy of being a closely guarded fortress does not yet guarantee making a better choice for the future of the PSE. Especially, if the questioned line of thinking shall influence the current process.

For the Warsaw Stock Exchange any scenario which would result in the public stock market becoming a popular place for raising capital by the Czech business, for which we hold great respect and admiration, is favourable.
