Six Years Of Deutsche Börse´s XTF Segment - XTF Is The Leading Market Place For ETFs In Europe - Q1/2006 Most Successful Quarter Since The Segment´s Introduction - Indexchange Launches Four New Index Funds In The XTF Segment

Six years after the introduction of the XTF segment, Deutsche Börse has further solidified its position as the leading marketplace for exchange-traded funds (ETFs). “The XTF segment currently boasts 117 index funds, the largest range of exchange-listed ETFs offered by any exchange in Europe,” said Rainer Riess, Managing Director of Stock Market Business Development at Deutsche Börse, and responsible for the XTF segment. “In the first quarter of 2006, XTF generated with €16.6 billion the highest quarterly turnover since the segment’s introduction, this represents an increase of 50 percent year-on-year. Investors benefit from an ever more diverse range of products and from the increasing liquidity of Deutsche Börse´s XTF segment.”

Along with the sixth anniversary of XTF, Deutsche Börse is further expanding its segment for exchange-traded index funds. Four new Indexchange ETFs have been available for trading in XTF since Tuesday. The new funds are: the Dow Jones Asia Pacific Select Dividend EX (ISIN: DE000A0H0744), which adds an Asia/Pacific-ETF to the range of ETF’s for dividend strategies; the NASDAQ-100 EX (ISIN: DE000A0F5UF5), which offers the opportunity of investing in the worlds most important technology index, the NASDAQ 100; the Dow Jones China Offshore 50 EX (ISIN: DE000A0F5UE8), which tracks the 50 largest and most liquid Chinese stocks with a US or Hong Kong listing; and the Dow Jones EURO STOXX Sustainability 40 EX (ISIN: DE000AOF5UG3), which tracks the 40 stocks with the highest sustainability rating in the Euro zone and is the first ETF in Europe that allows investors to implement a strategy based on sustainability criteria.

Trading volume in March 2006 was €6.2 billion, bringing total turnover for Q1 to €16.6 billion, a 50 percent climb year-on-year (Q1 2005: €11.04 billion). Assets under management in the XTF segment totaled €26.9 billion at the end of 2005, a 64 percent increase year-on-year (2004: €16.4 billion). At the end of March 2006, fund assets under management reached a new record high with €32.3 billion.
