The fifth edition of SPOT - SIX Swiss Exchange Open Day was successfully held on 23 September 2015. Almost 100 delegates registered to attend the event in the Park Hyatt Hotel in Zurich to discuss industry issues, share knowledge and exchange ideas about the global markets of the future. A total of 12 exhibitors with close relationship withSIX Swiss Exchange presented their solutions, services and products to trading participants, banks, financial institutions and third party companies. Diarmuid O'Dwyer, Relationship Manager at SIX Swiss Exchange of the Event commented: "Since 2011 with the SPOT Event we provide Exchange members and extended financial community a unique opportunity to meet with thought leaders from the financial industry and a wide range of independent providers of software, services and connectivity. Exciting speakers lineup
During the day, several key note speakers provided insights and topics for discussion. After the welcome and introduction by Urs Widmer, Head Business & Market Development at SIX Swiss Exchange, Janwillem Acket, Chief Economist Bank Julius Baer, spoke about "Aspects of economic growth".
In the afternoon, the Deputy Head Economic Research & Consulting Macro of Swiss Re, Astrid Frey, gave her views on the topic "Has monetary policy reached its limit?" before Brigitte Schönegger, Specialist Equities at Thomson Reuters presented "Top down macro research and bottom up fundamental analysis; an investment universe based on your criteria". The closing presentation was given by Chris Landis, CEO SIX Swiss Exchange a.i., in which he provided an outlook of SIX Swiss Exchange in 2016 and beyond.
Co-creation of new business ideas
As part of the SIX Swiss Exchange Open Day, exhibitors were also invited to participate in the "Co-Creation Workshop" on the day prior to the event. The purpose of this workshop was to share knowledge about customer needs, to generate new ideas and to look for innovative ways to create new products and services.
