SIX Swiss Exchange - May 2015: Turnover Still Higher Than In Previous Year

In May 2015, SIX Swiss Exchange and SIX Structured Products Exchange Ltd registered 3'807'071 transactions, 2.1%more than in the previous month. A slightly higher increase was recorded in the segment equities including funds + ETPs, with a plus of 2.8% and a total of 3'629'599 trades. Since the beginning of the year, growth across all segments amounts to38.8% with a total of 22'104'756 transactions.

While total turnover in May was slightly below the April figures, reaching CHF 100'479 million (-3.1%), it remains largely above the figures from the same period in the previous year, with an increase of almost 31% to CHF 635'020 million. The segment equities recorded an increase of even 32.7% (CHF 477'255 million), while the biggest growth was achieved in the segment CHF bonds, with 38.8% to reach CHF 92'092 million.
