SIX Swiss Exchange Exchange and SIX Structured Product Exchange Ltd (formerly Scoach Switzerland) registered a very strong start to the year. Compared to January 2013, both turnover and number of transactions rose by more than 20%.
Overall, turnover in January 2014 amounted to CHF 113'969 million, which represents an increase of 25.4% over the previous year. In the equity segment, turnover rose by even 34.2% to CHF 81'431 million. In the same period, the number of transactions across all trading segments rose by 22.1% to 3'597'984. Again, the increase in the equity segment was higher, at 23.5%.
