SIFMA today announced it has appointed Bradley Edgell as managing director for federal government affairs. Ms. Edgell joins SIFMA from The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) where she served as director of government relations.
“We are excited to add Bradley to our Government Affairs team,” said Kenneth E. Bentsen Jr., executive vice president of public policy and advocacy at SIFMA. “Bradley’s legislative experience with financial services issues will benefit our membership well into the future.”
In her new position as managing director, Ms. Edgell will be responsible for federal government relations in SIFMA’s office in Washington, D.C. Ms. Edgell’s career at SIFMA will begin January 24 and she will report directly to Mr. Bentsen.
In her most recent position at OCC, Ms. Edgell managed a variety of securities issues included in the Dodd Frank legislation. In addition she oversaw the government affairs associate administrative and legislative projects and helped organize the annual Options Industry Council congressional briefing.
Prior to joining OCC, Ms. Edgell had extensive experience on Capitol Hill working for several members of Congress particularly on financial service and capital markets matters.
Ms. Edgell has a B.A. in Social Sciences and Spanish from the University of Michigan.
