The Shenzhen Stock Exchange yesterday held the 26th conference of its third board of directors, chaired by party committee secretary and chief director Chen Dongzheng, and attended by directors Zhu Youyi, Wu Wanshan, Wang Yanguo, staffer of the general manager office and other top officials.
The bourse delivered and called for the grasp of the spirit of the latest National Securities & Futures Supervision Work Conference, deliberated the 2007 Work Report and the work plan for 2008 including the work reports by its special committees.
At the conference, attendant directors fully acknowledged the progress achieved in the past year, especially in keeping the safe operation of the market, stepping up front-line supervision and risk education for investors, actively building a multi-tier capital market system centered on the SME board and the upcoming GEM board. They also came up with various constructive ideas on the construction and regulation of a multi-tier capital market and product innovation. Looking into 2008, the Shenzhen bourse is pledged to enhance regulation in a more scientific, effective and compliant manner, reinforce risk control to ensure safe market operation and boost the core competitiveness.
Finally, the Appeals Review Committee, SME Foster Committee, Risk Management Committee, Listing Committee and Disciplinary Committee under the exchange also reported on their respective work in 2007 and outlined plans of improvements for this year.
