Shareholders Approve Name Change To TMX Group Inc.

At the Annual and Special Meeting in Toronto, shareholders of TSX Group Inc. today approved a resolution to change the name of the corporation to TMX Group Inc., following on the completion of the business combination with Montreal Exchange Inc.

Also at today’s meeting, shareholders elected the following people to serve as directors on the TMX Board: Luc Bertrand, Tullio Cedraschi, Raymond Chan, Denyse Chicoyne, Wayne C. Fox, Raymond Garneau, John A. Hagg, Harry A. Jaako, J. Spencer Lanthier, Jean Martel, Owen McCreery, John P. Mulvihill, Carmand Normand, Kathleen M. O’Neill, Gerri B. Sinclair, Jean Turmel and Laurent Verreault.

Chair Wayne Fox told shareholders that Thomas A. Kloet is set to assume his role as the new CEO on July 14, 2008. “Tom has an impressive track record of success in a number of key areas. We have great confidence in his ability to work with the Board and with our senior management team to build on our record of strong performance.”
