Share Changes For Friends Provident PLC And Koninklijke Ahold NV In The S&P European Indices

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P Europe 350, S&P Euro Plus, S&P Euro and S&P United Kingdom indices, effective after the close of trading on Wednesday 23 January 2008:

Friends Provident PLC (United Kingdom, SEDOL 3055977, GICS: Financials, GICS Code: 40301020), a member of the S&P Europe 350 and S&P United Kingdom indices, shares will increase to 2,322,994,000, following a conversion of convertible bonds.
Koninklijke Ahold NV (Netherlands, SEDOL: 5252602, GICS: Consumer Staples, GICS Code: 30101030), a member of the S&P Europe 350, S&P Euro Plus and S&P Euro indices, shares will decrease to 1,191,888,000 following the cancellation of ordinary shares.
