The CSI Aggregate Bond Index and its sub-indexes of bonds of different years are officially launched today. The base day of the CSI Aggregate Bond Index is December 31, 2002, with the base point of 100. It closed on December 13, 2007 at 111.91 points, up 11.91% from the base day. The net price index was 94.19, dropped by 5.81% from the base day. The interest and reinvestment index was 118.71, up 18.71% from the base day. The CSI Aggregate Bond Index is composed of 71 treasury bond constituents, 99 financial bond ones and 189 enterprise bond ones, with their market capitalization accounting for 61.2%, 30.9% and 7.9%, respectively. The numbers of constituents of the CSI 3-year, 7-year, 10-year and 10-year-plus Bonds Sub-indexes are 58, 101, 116 and 84, respectively, with their market capitalization accounting for 27.64%, 30.41%, 25.82% and 16.13%, respectively.
In addition to the closing quotation of the CSI Aggregate Bond Index, China Securities Index Co., Ltd. (CSI) has also published such indicators as the yield to maturity and the duration of the CSI Aggregate Bond Index and its sub-indexes, and released the data of term structure, the indexes' historical data and historical constituents, etc.
Investors can access the above data on the CSI's website (www.csindex.com.cn), the Wind ( www.wind.com.cn) or the Reuters. After operating for some time, the CSI Aggregate Bond Index and its sub-indexes will be available for the market through the SSE Fixed Income Platform and the exchange's satellite system.
