A total of 50 listed companies have signed up and five research firms have been approved to participate in phase two of the scheme. This brings the total number of participating companies in the scheme to 172.
SGX extends the SGX-MAS Research Incentive Scheme into its second phase following good response to the scheme. The number of participating companies in phase two has exceeded SGX's expectation of 30 to 50 companies. Since its launch, the scheme has attracted more than 22,000 registered users, with an average of 4000 to 5000 active users each month. Statistics also show an average of 37,000 reports downloads per month between March and August this year.
Mr Gan Seow Ann, EVP and Head of Markets at SGX said, "We are very encouraged by the response to the scheme. Over the past year, many other listed companies and research firms have expressed interest to join the scheme, and the market welcomes wider coverage. In response, we have expanded the scheme to more participants, effectively helping investors even more in their investment decisions."
