SGX Introduces Work Attachment Programme For Fresh Graduates

Date 10/02/2009

Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) announced today that it is introducing a Work Attachment Programme for fresh graduates to join the Exchange on working stints.

“There are already initiatives to help other segments of the workforce, but we believe this is the first to help fresh graduates from tertiary institutions. Our Work Attachment Programme will give fresh graduates a taste of the working world and help them pick up useful work experience, while they continue to seek permanent employment,” said Ms Amy Balan, Senior Vice President & Head of Corporate Communications, SGX.

To enable more people to benefit from the Programme, SGX will employ up to 50 people per half-year over a 12-month period from April 2009 to March 2010 – amounting to a maximum of 100 people in total. They will be paid an allowance of $800 a month, and will be entitled to employer’s CPF contributions.

All Singaporeans, permanent residents and foreigners currently holding a local student pass, who graduated from universities and polytechnics from 2008 onwards, may apply for this programme. Those who are interested can refer to the SGX Careers website at http://career.sgx.com for details on how to apply.
