SGX Introduces New Webpage Of Secondary Listings

Date 20/11/2007

Singapore Exchange (SGX) today introduces a new webpage on its home website to display a list of foreign companies that have a secondary listing on SGX-Securities Trading (SGX-ST). This will help the investing public and market participants to readily identify listed companies that comply with the listing rules of their home exchanges (primary listing), rather than SGX-ST’s continuing listing requirements.

However, these foreign companies are obliged to :-
  1. release all information and documents in English to SGX-ST at the same time as they inform their home exchanges;
  2. inform SGX-ST of any additional securities in a class already listed on SGX and the decision of their home exchange, and
  3. comply with other listing rules as may be applied by SGX-ST from time to time.

Currently, there are 30 foreign companies with a secondary listing on SGX-ST.

This is the second practical measure to be implemented by SGX following the recent study commissioned by SGX and MAS to review the state of corporate governance practices of SGX-listed companies.
