The close-door event will be attended by 50 senior delegates from 14 exchanges who are members of EAOSEF. They include chairmen of major exchanges. A list of the exchanges attending the event is attached.
The meetings aim to facilitate the exchange of information and to promote mutual assistance among EAOSEF members, with a view to developing the securities markets in the region.
In conjunction with the meetings, SGX has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Shanghai Stock Exchange today and will be signing another MOU with the Shenzhen Stock Exchange on 15 April 2004.
Hsieh Fu Hua, SGX CEO, said, "We are happy to sign the MOUs with Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges. The MOUs will help foster a continuing relationship between SGX and the two exchanges, as well as cooperation in areas to enhance understanding of activities in each exchange's market."
