Saudi Arabian Equity Market First Half Report 2006 - Total Value Of Shares Traded Has Reached Over SR 3.14 Trillion For First Six Months Of 2006

The All Share Index by the end of the first half of the year 2006 closed at 13145.26 points compared with 13455.24 for the same period of last year 2005 with a decrease of 2.30% .

The market capitalization reached SR (1.97) trillion (US$ 525.3billion) posting an increase of 1 % compared with the same period of last year 2005.

The total value of shares traded during the first half of the year 2006 reached SR 3.14 trillion (US$ 837.3 billion) compared with SR 1.62 trillion (US$ 432 billion) for the same period of last year 2005 with an increase of 94%.

The total shares traded reached 22.1 billion compared with 5.3 billion for the same period of last year with an increase of 320%.

The total number of transactions executed in the first 6 months of 2006 reached 48.94 million compared to 16.11 million in the same period of the year 2004 with an increase of 204%.
