Anglogold Ashanti Ltd. (EMDB Code 696670.1/Sedol 6565655) will increase its shares outstanding by 42.073 million shares effective May 19, 2004. The share increase reflects the recent acquisition of Ashanti Goldfields, from Ghana, by Anglogold Ashanti Ltd. If the above share increase had occurred on May 4, 2004, the S&P/IFCI market weight would have increased to 4.35% from 3.69%.

S&P/EMDB will increase the number of shares outstanding for Elite Industries – 1.00 (SPID 436300.1/SEDOL 6304115), an S&P/IFCI and S&P/IFCG constituent, by 43.2175 million shares effective May 19, 2004.
