In June 2009 the RTS Index went down by 9.25% to 987.02 points as of June 30, 2009 as compared to 1087.59 points as of May 29, 2009. Most of the negative impact on the RTS Index dynamics was coming from falling prices for ??? "LUKOIL" ordinary shares (LKOH) (minus 18.58 points), ordinary shares of OJSC "OC "Rosneft" (ROSN) (minus 18.50 points) and Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) (minus 14.40 points).
The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 increased by 0.08% to reach 858.52 points (857.80 points as of May 29, 2009). Most economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market closed in the red territory. The major negative contributor was the industrial sector, with the RTS Index - Industrial going down by 12.20%. The oil & gas sector reported a significant decline, with the RTS Index – Oil & Gas decreasing by 10.69%. Only the power sector performed better than the market, with the RTS Index – Electric Utilities gaining 1.67%.

Over June the US dollar lost 0.11% against the Russian rouble to reach 31.29 roubles per US dollar (31.33 as of May 29, 2009).
In June 2009 the trading volume on RTS equaled USD33.9 billion (1 052.0 billion roubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD4,575.65 million.
The top sellers of the month on the RTS Stock Market were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD3,190.3 million, Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD832.5 million, followed by ??? "LUKOIL" ordinary shares (LKOH) with a turnover of USD190.1 million. The share of the above securities in the turnover made up 65.43%, 17.07% and 3.90% respectively. The top gainers of the month were ordinary shares of Sinarsky Tube Works (SNTZ) that experienced a 75.44% growth and reached USD50.0, ordinary shares of JSC "OGK-2" (OGKB) that went up by 73.91% to reach USD0.028 and ordinary shares of IDGC of South, JSC (MRKY) that gained 72.0% to end up at USD0.0043 per share.
The top losers of the month were ordinary shares of RBC Information Systems (RBCI) that lost 28.89% to reach USD0.96, ordinary shares of JSC "The Seventh Continent" (SCON) that went down by 25.23% to reach USD8.0 and Sistema JSFC (AFKS) that decreased by 21.74% to USD0.36.
