In June 2008 RTS Index was going down, as compared to the end of May 2008, and by the end of the trading session of June 30th, 2008 reached 2 303,34 points against 2 459,88 points as of the end of the previous month.
Most of the negative impact on the RTS Index dynamics was coming from falling prices for LUKOIL ordinary shares (LKOH) (minus 52,29 points), Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) (minus 38,19 points), OJSC "MMC "NORILSK NICKEL" ordinary shares (GMKN) (minus 18,94 points).
The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 went down by 0,13% to reach 2 576,87 points (2 580,20 points as of the end of May, 2008). For the last month all key sectors, represented on the Russian stock market, showed a negative trend. The RTS Index – Oil & Gas demonstrated the largest drop of 6,96%. A considerable decline was registered in the financial sector, the corresponding Sectoral Index shed 4,47%. The highest stability was demonstrated by the RTS Index – Telecom, which shrank by 0,64% only.

In June 2008 the trading volume on RTS equaled 26,7 billion dollars (631,8 billion rubles*), including all types of trades.
The top sellers of the month on the RTS Stock market were LUKOIL ordinary shares (LKOH) – $209,5 mln., Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) - $201,6 mln., followed by OJSC "MMC "NORILSK NICKEL" ordinary shares (GMKN) – $114,8 mln. The share of the above securities in the turnover made up 22,11%, 21,28% and 12,12% respectively.
The top gainers of the month were Silvinit ordinary shares (SILV) that experienced a 32,92% growth to close at $2160,0, ordinary shares of Moscow City Electricity Distribution Company (MGRS) that went up by 25,25% to reach $0,0764 and ordinary shares of JSC "IDGC of Center and Volga region" (MRKP) that gained 24,17% to end at $0,0149.
The top losers of the month were ordinary shares of OJSC "Stavropolenergosbit" (STSB) that fell in price by 23,26% to reach $0,033, ordinary shares of OJSC "Kazanorgsintez" (KZOS) that went down by 21,26% to reach $0,5 and JSC "TGK-6" ordinary shares (TGKF) that were down by 20,00% to $0,00072.
In June a considerable trading volume in bonds was registered. The top sellers of the month were National Capital (NCAP02) bonds, whose trading volume stood at $128,377 mln.
