US dollar futures trading registered a new record by surpassing twice this month the daily volume record. ROFEX´s Financial Derivatives Division thus closed a day of strong activity.
At the end of April 22 trading session, more than 554 million dollars in US dollar futures were traded, with a total of 554,422 contracts traded. In this way, ROFEX reached a new record in financial derivatives.
Traded volume surpassed by 16% the previous record reached only 5 days ago, when 463,490 contracts were registered in ROFEX´s Financial Derivatives Division (DDF). Meanwhile, last Friday the monthly volume was surpassed, reaching up to this moment a total of 4.24 million contracts traded as from the beginning of April. It is worth mentioning that the last record was reached in October 2007, when 3.01 million contracts were traded.
As regards quotations, at last Tuesday’s close and talking about closer positions, April 2008 US dollar fixed at $3.1820 and May 2008 US dollar at $3.1950, with increases of 0.06% and 0.16%, respectively. On the other hand, BCRA reference price was of $3.1845.
