The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) today announced the appointment of Robin Francis as director of Strategic Communications in its New York office. Francis' responsibilities include media relations, communications strategy, and outreach to the public relations staff of SIFMA member firms. She will work in coordination with SIFMA communications staff in New York, Washington, D.C. and London.
“We are extremely fortunate to have someone of Robin’s caliber join our ranks,” said Christina Martin, SIFMA senior managing director, Strategic Communications. “SIFMA’s members will be well served by Robin, an experienced communications professional who has worked with public, private and non-profit organizations.
Francis comes to SIFMA from Women’s World Banking where she was manager of communications and created new communications programs within global microfinance and increased the media visibility of the organization and its services. Robin has several years of experience in the fixed income area, having worked both at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the U.S. Treasury Department in communications, marketing and education-focused positions. Francis earned a Master of Arts in International Affairs from American University, School of International Service, Washington, D.C. and received a bachelor of arts in political science from the University of Massachusetts.
