Congressman Vito Fossella (R-NY13) today released the following statement on President Bush’s call for an economic stimulus package:
“The key to spurring economic growth is to reduce taxes and create incentives for businesses to invest. I am pleased that the President is moving aggressively with a stimulus package to strengthen the economy. It is essential that we take action quickly to stop any economic downturn before it worsens. I understand that many families are concerned about their future. Any plan that comes before Congress must focus primarily on tax relief – not higher taxes and more government spending. I look forward to working with the President and Congressional leaders on a plan that returns money to hard-working families.”
