Rep. Fossella Statement On Financial Services Roundtable Report On Competitiveness

Congressman Vito Fossella (R-NY13) said, “I commend the Financial Services Roundtable and its Blue Ribbon Commission for the report released today. Maintaining the competitiveness of the U.S. capital markets should be a top national priority. The recommendations included in the report highlight the emerging consensus about the issues we need to address, including moving toward more prudential and principles-based regulation, litigation reform and modernization of accounting standards. I look forward to thoroughly reviewing the report and considering its recommendations as I move forward with drafting legislation.”
