Redenomination Of Warsaw Stock Exchange Sectoral Sub-Indices

Starting from Monday, February 5, 2007, the Warsaw Stock Exchange sectoral subindices will have their values redenominated.

Following the redenomination of subindices since February 5, 2007, current 10 index points will equal 1 index point.

The redenomination concerns the following subindices: WIG-banking, WIG-construction, WIG-IT, WIG-media, WIG-oil&gas, WIG-food and WIG-telecom.

The aim of the operation is to increase subindices legibility and maker them more user-friendly, since their value analysis will be easier for investors. Currently the subindices range in value from 14 thousand points - in case of WIG-telecom - to 93 thousand points in case for WIG-construction. Following the changes, the values of these indices, will be respectively 1.4 thousand points and 9 thousand points.

High growth dynamics on the market in 2006 were particularly visible in case of WIG-construction index (increase by 148.4%), WIG-banking (increase by 51.5%) and WIG-food (increase by 50.6%). While the WIG index value rose over the whole 2006 by 41.6%.

The redenomination of subindices does not result in changes in their calculation rules and construction methodology.

Historical values of all the subindices, adequately recalculated in the redenomination process, will be available from the WSE’s web site (the Indices Section).
