Recent Gains Reversed For Listed Exchanges But Mexican Wave Continues - FTSE Mondo Visione Exchanges Index Falls By 2.9% In November

The FTSE Mondo Visione Exchanges Index fell by 3.7 percent in November 2010. The stand-out performer by capital returns in US dollars in November was the Mexican Stock Exchange which experienced a rise of 14.3 percent. Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing rose by 4.1 percent. Other exchanges in positive territory in November were TMX Group with a rise of 2.9 percent, NASDAQ OMX Group with a rise of 1.7 percent and the London Stock Exchange Group with a rise of 0.6 percent.

All other constituent exchanges experienced declines in November.

The FTSE Mondo Visione Exchanges Index worst performer by capital returns in US dollars in November was Greece’s Hellenic Exchange, which experienced a 17.8 percent fall. Spain’s BME and Germany’s Deutsche Boerse share price performance fell 14.5 percent and 13.7 percent respectively.

Year to date the sector is up 0.9 percent with NZX, BME and Deutsche Boerse underperforming the sector and the Mexican Stock Exchange, JSE, Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing, and the Philippine Stock Exchange outperforming their peers.
