Standard & Poor’s today announce changes to the quarterly rebalance dates for the S&P/HKEx LargeCap Index and the S&P/HKEx GEM Index. In an effort to standardize the way indices are maintained and rebalanced the S&P/HKEx index rebalance dates will changed so they align with the majority of S&P standard country and regional indices.
The following changes will occur.
S&P/HKEx LargeCap Index.
The index rebalance implementation dates will change from the close of the second last trading day of March, June, September & December to the close of the third Friday of the same month. These changes will be implemented at the next index rebalance and therefore will become effective after the close of trading Friday 19th December 2008.
S&P/HKEx GEM Index
The index rebalance implementation dates will change from the close of the third Friday of the first month of the quarter to the third Friday of the last month of the quarter. These changes will be implemented at the next index rebalance and therefore will become effective after the close of trading Friday 19th December 2008.
