MAS has learnt of isolated cases of letters and emails containing MAS' name, logo and letterhead being sent to consumers. These letters and emails typically ask the recipients for personal information or to transfer funds to a particular party or account.
2. MAS does not send unsolicited letters or emails asking for confidential information or for funds to be transfered electronically.
3. The public should be suspicious of unsolicited letters or emails offering deals that seem to be too good to be true, appear to come from well-known institutions, request for confidential information, and/or give instructions to transfer funds to a third party or account. Such mails are typically scams intended to defraud.
