Over $1 Billion Of Capital Raised On The NZDX Market This Week

Date 10/10/2007

The listing of $900 million of debt securities by Rabobank yesterday and today's $200 million Origin Energy listing has seen over $1 billion of capital raised on the NZDX Market this week.

The NZDX Market has seen strong growth, with market capitalisation more than doubling in the last five years to almost $10 billion.

Both the Rabobank and Origin Energy debt issues were in strong demand from investors. Rabobank raised over double the capital they set out to, accepting over $500 million of oversubscriptions. The Origin Energy offer was also fully subscribed.

NZX Products Group Manager, Geoff Brown said, "Investors are now demanding high quality products. They are getting smarter about unlisted debt products and are looking for tradable products with investment grade credit and the comfort of continuous disclosure."

Total capital raised on all NZX Markets year to date is now over $4 billion, a breakdown of $1.8 billion of equity and $2.3 billion of debt.
