As previously announced, Oslo Børs will introduce Merkur Market in January 2016. Merkur Market will be introduced on the existing version of Millennium Exchange, although additional values in the combined reference data files for Merkur Market, Oslo Børs, Oslo Axess and Nordic ABM require minor adjustments to be carried out by third parties. The changes in the reference data files will come into force in the production environment Monday 7 December 2015, and in the test environment from Monday 2 November 2015.
To make the implementation as easy as possible Merkur Market will be added as a new equity segment on Millennium Exchange, in the same manner as Oslo Axess is today. This means that Merkur Market will have the same trading system, gateways and reference data files as Oslo Børs and Oslo Axess. Merkur Market will not be a part of Oslo Børs’ Dark Pool and all trades will be settled bilaterally.

- New MIC “MERK”
- New segment “MERK”
- New Post Trade and Trade Type tables
Oslo Børs also introduces a new ticker naming scheme for Merkur Market where “-ME” will be appended to all ticker names.
In the test environment all members currently set up to allow bilateral settlement will get trading access to Merkur Market instruments automatically. In order to gain trading access to Merkur Market instruments in the production environment members need to sign “Membership Agreement Merkur Market” as a sign-on agreement to the Merkur Market Member and Trading Rules and send this to their account manager.
Market data vendors do not have to take any actions with regards to enablement, as existing protocols and market data channels for Oslo Børs and Oslo Axess will be used.
Merkur Market will be introduced in the test environment from Monday 2 November 2015.
New test instruments will be added at the same time. Oslo Børs will follow up with a list prior to the test launch.
