Carlos Figueredo, CEO of Open Vector primed for two speaking opportunities at SIBOS being held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre between October 16-19, 2017. SIBOS is the world’s premier financial services event and attracts representatives from over 200 financial institutions.
Carlos Figueredo will join the ‘Standards Forum – Session’ on Tuesday 17th October at 1400 to discuss ‘Global Payments Transformation’. The global payments landscape is being transformed through regulation and new technology and the panel discussion will look at how standards sit at the heart of enabling this evolution.
On Day 4 at 1000, Carlos will speak on a panel looking at ‘APIs and Open Banking’. Joined by individuals from the likes of Payments UK and SWIFT, the discussion will focus specifically on how ISO 20022 as a business standard can contribute to improving design time and overall interoperability.
Carlos commented, “I have spoken at many events over the years but without doubt, SIBOS is the most prestigious, I am truly honoured to have been invited to present to such an influential group. This year I am representing the Open Vector business and am excited to not only attend but also share the voice of the Fintechs and to help in establishing a level playing field in the industry – for the greater good. My previous role as Head of Data Standards for the UK’s Open Banking Implementation Entity (OBIE) puts us in a unique position as, together with my team at Open Vector, we are the only group to have officially created and implemented an open banking standard and overall API strategy. I will be at SIBOS to share my experience and knowledge but also to put Open Vector well and truly on the map. We are now open for business and with Open Banking standards coming in to play from January 2018 this is a challenging but exciting time for the whole industry.”
