Highlights

  • Average daily trades were up 17 % at 2,604 and average daily value traded was up 11% at $142 million.
  • The NZX 50 Index finished the month on 4119, up 17% since August last year. The index was down less than 1% at the end of the month on its opening August index value.
  • Total capital raised on the NZX markets year to date is up 38% at $3.035 billion, compared with $2.2 billion for the same period in 2006.

  • Number of instalment warrant trades were up 62% in August, with 1,290 trades and $9 million value traded.
  • Smartshares funds under management up 13% on the same period last year at $364 million. Smartshares now has 14.784 unitholders.
