NZ Windfarms Migrates From The NZAX To The Main Board Today

Date 06/06/2007

NZX is pleased to announce that NZ Windfarms Limited has transferred from the NZAX to the NZSX Market today.

NZ Windfarms is a power generation company that produces sustainably generated electricity from wind turbines.

NZ Windfarms recently completed a $75 million capital raising, with scaling necessary following excess demand for the 68.2 million of shares on offer.

NZX Markets Development Manager, Geoff Brown said, “The uptake of this offer shows that New Zealanders believe in the future of renewable energy in New Zealand. It is great to see NZ Windfarms go back to the market to raise capital to fuel their growth, expand their shareholder base and now migrate to the NZSX Market.”

New Zealand is recognised as having one of the best wind energy resources in the world, with wind power seen as an increasingly attractive option for meeting electricity demand growth expected in the future.

NZ Windfarms Chairman, Derek Walker said, “The company is very excited to be graduating to the main board of the NZX following its very successful capital raising. It signals a major step in the company's development as it now has the capital to complete its share of the Te Rere Hau wind farm and commence development of its next sites. This is at a time when there is unprecedented interest in renewable generation development as a tool to limit carbon emissions and combat climate change.”

Shares in NZ Windfarms were quoted on the NZSX Market under the security code NWF from 10am today.
