NYSE Welcomes The Minister Of External Trade Of France, Christine Lagarde - The NYSE Lists 18 French Companies, The Highest Number Of Any Other Country In Continental Europe

The New York Stock Exchange today was honored to welcome Christine Lagarde, Minister of External Trade of France.    Minister Lagarde was escorted on a floor tour during her visit and was met by NYSE Group, Inc. CEO John A. Thain and President & co-COO Catherine R. Kinney.

“We are honored to welcome Christine Lagarde, Minister of External Trade of France, on her official visit to the New York Stock Exchange,” said Mr. Thain.  “The NYSE is proud of its partnership with France and our 18 French listed companies.  We thank Minister Lagarde for her visit and look forward to further developing our relationship with France.”

The NYSE lists 18 French companies, the highest number of any  country in Continental Europe, with a total market capitalization of approximately $630 billion.  The partnership between the NYSE and France dates back to the listing of TOTAL S.A. (NYSE:  TOT) on Oct. 25, 1991. The most recent French company to list on the NYSE was Air France-KLM  (NYSE:  AKH) on Oct. 5, 2004.
