The New York Stock Exchange today welcomed His Excellency, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Prime Minster of Denmark. Prime Minister Rasmussen met with NYSE Euronext CEO Duncan Niederauer and ended the day’s trading by ringing the NYSE Closing Bell.
"It’s been my pleasure to welcome Prime Minister Rasmussen," said Mr. Niederauer. "We discussed current market conditions and how we can work together in the future. I look forward to strengthening our relationship with Denmark and its capital markets."
"We had a fruitful discussion on the markets as well as on the economy as a whole," said Prime Minister Rasmussen. "I’ve very much enjoyed my visit here today."
In New York, Prime Minister Rasmussen met with world leaders, including the UN Secretary-General, and the Climate Change COP-Troika to discuss the perspectives for a strengthened international deal on climate change to be concluded at the UN Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen in December 2009.
