NYSE Member Firms Report Third-Quarter 2007 Results

New York Stock Exchange member firms that conduct business with the public reported a third-quarter 2007 after-tax loss of $2.49 billion and revenues of $78.79 billion, compared with $2.64 billion in after-tax profits on revenues of $81.76 billion in third quarter 2006.

For the first nine months of 2007, the firms reported after-tax profits of $3.29 billion on record revenues of $263.87 billion, compared with after-tax profits of $8.67 billion on revenues of $237.96 billion in the first nine months of 2006.  Comparative financial results in the table below:
