Today NYSE Governance Services, Corporate Board Member aired its 200th episode of “This Week in the Boardroom,” a weekly on-demand web program launched in September 2009. Co-hosted by TK Kerstetter, chairman, NYSE Governance Services, Corporate Board Member, and Scott Cutler, EVP & co-head of U.S. Listings & Cash Execution, NYSE Euronext, the program is designed to educate corporate board members, C-suite executives, and company board advisers on events that impact their decisions in the boardroom and the C-suite.
The 200th episode featured special guest Duncan Niederauer, chief executive officer and director, NYSE Euronext, who provided an update on the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) acquisition of NYSE. Other guests, Cindy Fornelli, executive director, Center for Audit Quality (CAQ), and Trent Gazzaway, national partner, audit services, Grant Thornton LLP, discussed highlights of the top issues covered since the webshow’s inception, from say-on-pay to proxy advisory firm relations.
Kerstetter summarized the program’s four-year run: “In my 20 years in the board education business, I believe ‘This Week in the Boardroom’ has been one of the most valuable resources I’ve seen to keep boards informed. We’ve been pleased with the viewership and positive feedback from directors, GCs, and corporate secretaries. But the best part has been interacting with the 130 board governance experts who have graced our studios and learning something new every week.”
Cutler recalled the NYSE’s initial interest in launching the show. “We actually started ‘This Week in the Boardroom’ in the NYSE studio a year prior to acquiring Corporate Board Member as a wholly owned subsidiary in 2010. NYSE wanted to make a giant step to better connect and inform the boards of our listed companies, and ‘This Week in the Boardroom’ was the perfect tool to make that connection.”
