NYSE Euronext Reports Record Transaction Volumes For The Week Ending Aug. 10 - NYSE Euronext Cash Equities Exchanges Reached All-Time Daily Volume Records Aug. 9 - NYSE Group And Euronext Cash Equities Markets Have Busiest Weeks Ever

NYSE Euronext (NYSE Euronext: NYX), the world's largest and most liquid exchange group, today reported record transaction[1] volumes in its U.S. and European cash equities trading operations for the week-ended August 10, 2007.

The company's U.S. equities trading operations, the New York Stock Exchange and NYSE Arca, reported a combined volume of over 23 billion[2] shares traded during the week-ended Aug. 10, a new weekly all-time high for NYSE Group.   NYSE Group traded more shares than any other U.S. cash equities market registering a new top 10 volume day each day of the week, including a new all-time record of 5.37 billion shares traded on Aug. 9 and a record average daily volume of 4.7 billion shares traded daily during the week.

Based on preliminary results, today's trading volume on NYSE Group cash equities markets will rank among the top 10 most active days with 4.4 billion shares traded (excluding Crossing Sessions).  Trading volume on NYSE Group U.S. cash equities markets in August 2007 was 116% higher than August 2006, and 144% higher than August 2005. 

NYSE Euronext’s European cash markets also registered their busiest day ever on Aug. 9, with more than 2.3 million transactions, as compared to the previous Feb. 28, 2007 record of 2.1 million transactions.  Additionally, order volumes for the week also reached a record 87 million orders.
