Margaret D. Tutwiler, Executive Vice President, Global Communications and Government Relations, NYSE Euronext (NYX ), will resign from the company, effective Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, having informed Chief Executive Officer Duncan L. Niederauer of her plans to join Merrill Lynch as head of Global Communications and Public Affairs. Ms. Tutwiler, who also serves on the NYSE Euronext Management Committee, joined the company in July 2004.

She has significantly advanced those functions, our world leading brand, and our global business strategy. We wish her well at Merrill Lynch.”

At Merrill Lynch, Ms. Tutwiler will be responsible for all external and internal communications activities, including media and government relations; employee, business group, executive, shareholder and public policy communications; corporate marketing and brand identity, and other related activities.

Margaret D. Tutwiler is Executive Vice President, Communications and Government Relations for NYSE Euronext and is a member of the NYSE Euronext Management Committee. She is responsible for directing NYSE Euronext’s communications, advertising, marketing, and government relations. Ms. Tutwiler is also serves on the board of the NYSE Foundation. Ms. Tutwiler, 56, joined the company in July 2004 as Executive Vice President.

During Ronald Reagan’s presidency, Ms. Tutwiler served as the Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Public Affairs from 1985 to 1989 and as Deputy Assistant to the President for Political Affairs and Special Assistant to the President in the White House office of the Chief of Staff from 1981 to 1985.
