NYSE/Euronext Announcement - Joint Statement On Paris Europlace Report

Euronext N.V. (Euronext) and NYSE Group, Inc. (NYSE: NYX) have carefully considered the statement made today by Paris Europlace concerning the merger of their two companies.

Euronext and NYSE Group are pleased and greatly appreciate that Paris Europlace has recognised the significant improvements and additional guarantees that have now been incorporated into the transaction, and its conclusion that the risk of U.S. regulatory overspill is not increased by this combination.

Equally, Euronext and NYSE Group confirm that they embrace the general guidelines of transatlantic balance of the new group and the appropriate regulatory protection for European markets as outlined by Paris Europlace.
