NYSE Arca Options Completes Platform Rollout - Final 109 Issues Bring Total Options Contracts To 1,941 - Initial Launch To Finished Rollout In Nine Weeks

The NYSE Group, Inc. (NYSE: NYX) today announced the migration of the final 109 options issues to the NYSE Arca Options platform, completing the system’s phased-in rollout of 1,941 total issues that began on Aug. 7, 2006. With 22 firms participating in a market making capacity, investors benefit from NYSE Arca Options’ superior functionality, speed and transparency coupled with its highly competitive pricing structure, creating one of the world’s most cost-effective options trading venues.

The newly-developed NYSE Arca Options system provides automatic executions for customer and broker dealer orders as well as a low cost venue for both Lead Market Makers and Market Makers to stream quotes from the trading floor or remotely. Blending price-time priority with Lead Market Maker participation, NYSE Arca Options includes expanded and innovative order types, along with greater transparency and reliability.
