NYMEX Sets Daily Volume Records For Energy Futures On CME Globex

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., a subsidiary of NYMEX Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:NMX), announced today that it set daily volume records for natural gas, heating oil, and RBOB gasoline futures on the CME Globex electronic trading platform yesterday.

Natural gas futures reached a record 137,562 contracts, exceeding the 130,627 contracts traded on January 30. Heating oil futures totaled 72,676 contracts, surpassing the 63,577 contracts traded on January 12. RBOB gasoline futures traded 52,032 contracts, beating the 49,969 contracts traded on January 9.

NYMEX launched its physically settled futures contracts for trading on CME Globex during regular open outcry trading hours on September 5, following its initial offering of financially settled, standard-sized and NYMEX miNY energy futures contracts for trading on CME Globex on June 12. On December 4, NYMEX introduced full-sized and COMEX miNY metals futures contracts for side by side trading.
