NYMEX Names Two New Vice Presidents

The board of directors of the New York Mercantile retained two new vice presidents in the marketing and corporate communications departments.

Keil Decker was named the vice president of corporate communications and investor relations. He joined NYMEX from Sloane & Company, a leading public and investor relations firm, where he worked as a vice president, helping financial industry clients with strategic communications initiatives and crisis management strategies. Prior to Sloane & Company, Mr. Decker worked at investor and media relations agencies including Citigate Sard Verbinnen, Porter Novelli International, and Morgen–Walke Associates.

Mr. Decker graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor of arts degree in history.

Howard Hopkins was appointed a vice president of marketing. A veteran crude oil trader, he began his career on the NYMEX trading floor as a runner in 1979, then went on to become a broker. In 2004, he was named the president of trading firm MK Brokerage. Mr. Hopkins has also worked as a vice president for Merrill Lynch Futures and ABN AMRO. He was a NYMEX member and served on the floor, adjudication, facilities, compliance, and settlement committees.

Mr. Hopkins has a bachelor of arts degree in history from Fordham University.
