NYBOT To Offer Sugar Seminar In Brazil This October

Date 28/08/2006

The New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®), the world’s leading “soft” commodity exchange, is hosting a seminar entitled “Sugar Options Strategy and Volatility Outlook” this October 3 and 4 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The event is aimed at creating an effective options hedging strategy by formulating a market price scenario which takes volatility into consideration.

The sugar event will be presented in Portuguese and will be comprised of two workshops: one exploring various options strategies, with a special emphasis on how various volatility scenarios will affect a hedge’s effectiveness; the other focusing on a Price and Volatility Outlook for the sugar market.

Industry specialists will explore sugar/ethanol market fundamentals as well as other factors which can affect the volatility of the sugar, including interest rates, currencies, weather, and energy markets.

“The Exchange’s goal is to educate the industry to our markets, which is why we host so many seminars abroad and at home,” said Joe O’Neill, Senior Vice President at NYBOT. “This event in Brazil is the perfect opportunity for those in the sugar industry to learn more about volatility and managing price risk through the use of options, so I encourage all interested parties to come take advantage of what this seminar has to offer.”

The options workshop instructor will be Arnaldo Correa from Archer Consulting.

Event Address:
Crowne Plaza Sao Paulo
Rua Frei Caneca 1360
Sao Paulo, 01307 Brazil
