Norton Rose, the international legal practice, today announced that Dean Naumowicz is to join the firm in London as a derivatives partner in the International Securities Group. Dean will join Norton Rose from the legal department of Barclays Capital, where he was a Director.
Before joining Barclays Capital, Dean had previously worked at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Allen & Overy for a total of 8 years. He has advised numerous clients on OTC derivatives and structured finance transactions and has worked on a wide range of innovative finance structures in emerging markets. He is a contributor to a number of ISDA documents including the User’s Guide to ISDA Credit Support Documents under English Law and the Collateral Asset Definitions.
Dean will bring the total number of partners in the International Securities Group to five following the hires last year of Laurence Garside (derivatives/structured finance), Tak Matsuda (debt capital markets) and Sandrine Sauvel (structured finance/securitisation), and the addition to the team of Neil D. Miller (Islamic structured finance/capital markets).
Dean Naumowicz commented: “Having worked previously with both Tak Matsuda and Sandrine Sauvel, I am pleased to be joining a great team. The strength and depth of the Norton Rose finance and insurance practices together with its leading emerging markets practice provides an excellent platform on which to build a strong and profitable OTC derivatives practice.”
Global Head of Banking Stephen Parish commented: “Dean’s experience is wide-ranging and includes high value legal work on highly structured bespoke transactions involving derivatives. His experience in first tier institutions and his connections in emerging markets make him a great hire and we look forward to welcoming him to the team.“
