Nikkei 225 Mini, Approved As One Of The Tradable Products For Taiwanese Investors

Osaka Securities Exchange Co., Ltd. (OSE) is pleased to announce today that on November 17, 2006, Nikkei 225 mini futures contract has been ratified and promulgated by Taiwan Securities and Futures Bureau (SFB) Commission. OSE applied to the SFB in this regard in order to acquire more expanded and broader investor base in Taiwanese futures market. In Japan, Nikkei 255 mini contracts have been started trading on July 18, 2006.

With this approval, Nikkei 225 mini is officially recognized as one of the tradable products for Taiwanese investors. OSE Futures and Options based on Nikkei Stock Average (Nikkei 225) have already been granted recognition as tradable for Taiwanese investors.

Nikkei 225 mini, one-tenth sized contract of the existing Nikkei Stock Average Futures trading, responds to the demand from both domestic and international investors. Accordingly, its liquidity is expected to be enhanced by Taiwanese investors’ participation in Nikkei 225 mini.
