The Tokyo Commodity Exchange, Inc announced today that the trading volume for the July 8 night session* which started at 17:00 JST of July 5 and closed at 4:00 JST of July 6 amounted to 161,245 contracts. It tops the previous all-time record of 146,847 contracts for the April 16, 2013 night session.

*At TOCOM, the trade day is referred to in accordance with the clearing period, which starts with “previous business day’s night session (from 17:00) and ends with the closing of today’s day session (until 15:30). Therefore the night session actually took place from 17:00 of July 5 is referred to as the July 8 night session.
